What You Fear You Create

Have you noticed that what we fear, we tend to create? Well it is not magical how that happens. Take for instance the Stock Market these days. There has been lots of talk about a near-recession or a full blown recession is happening in our economy. Since that conversation began, did you notice how many Americans and foreign investors ran quickly to their brokerage firms and sold their stock, thus creating a massive sell off. The sell offs then caused more panic and others went to do the same, thus causing the stock market to go down even lower. Then the Finance Chairman lowered the interest rate by a huge amount compared to historical standards, calling it a "stimulus package" to offset the slide in the market. Well, that action caused people to think, "Oh there must be something wrong", and they panicked to cause a deeper plunge. At the end of the day, the results are matching the fears. Thus we create what we fear.

We may not create it directly, but the dynamics that go into effect from one action can geometrically grow into major outcomes. It shows you that your thoughts and actions make a difference and they influence other thoughts and actions which then affect you again. So be careful what you think and how you act on those thoughts, because they may come back to you in spades. What goes around comes around -- "circle, circle". Said another way, every cause has an effect, and every effect has a cause. This is what is meant by the law of attraction in action. It is not magical; it is dynamical. You do, in that sense, create your own reality.

"I have spoken to you previously about the necessity of wedding purpose to correct thought. Intelligent, positive thinking will get you nowhere until it is guided by definiteness of purpose. But even purposeful thought must be buoyed by an abiding faith. The most noble purpose backed by the best-laid plans will prove no match for the twin cancers of fear and doubt if allowed to take hold. Fear and doubt are as cryptonite to success and have but one antidote -- faith.

Haven't we all seen an athletic event where one team has a big lead late in the game when the tide begins to turn and the team behind begins to make a move? What usually happens is that the team in front begins to freeze up. You can see fear and doubt begin to creep in and run away with themselves. We end up watching a seemingly improbable come from behind victory by their opponent.

True champions know that the victory is theirs whether they are the team ahead or the team making the move from behind. You must have absolute faith in the outcome of your endeavors or fear and doubt will eat you alive when obstacles are confronted. Neither fear nor doubt can occupy the mind at the same time as absolute faith. When you develop a faith strong enough that there is no possibility of an outcome different from that which you desire, fear and doubt will find no room in which to occupy your mind and victory will be yours." -- Jeff Young

I found this to be an inspiring message in midst of all the things I got going on in my life that are so out on the limb that I get scared. I often don't know what I am going to encounter while i am going forth on my dreams, and sometimes I encounter things that I judge, at the moment to be obstacles to my path, only to find out later that they were tremendous learning esperiences that gave me insights and more power. Funny how that happens! Just shows you, that faith is what keeps you going in the face of challenges. When you got faith, you will overcome.

THE UNITED STATES ONE DOLLAR BILL.

Take out a one dollar bill, and look at it. The one dollar bill you’re looking at first came off the presses in 1957 in its present design. This so-called paper money is in fact a cotton and linen blend, with red and blue minute silk fibers running through it. It is actually material. We’ve all washed it without it falling apart. A special blend of ink is used, the contents we will never know. It is overprinted with symbols and then it is starched to make it water resistant and pressed to give it that nice crisp look.

If you look on the front of the bill, you will see the United States Treasury Seal.

On the top you will see the scales for a balanced budget.

In the center you have a carpenter’s square, a tool used for an even cut. Underneath is the Key to the United States Treasury. That’s all pretty easy to figure out, but what is on the back of that dollar bill is something we should all know.

If you turn the bill over, you will see two circles.
Both circles, together, comprise the Great Seal of the United States.

The First Continental Congress requested that Benjamin Franklin and a group of men come up with a Seal. It took them four years to accomplish this task and another two years to get it approved.

If you look at the left-hand circle, you will see a Pyramid. Notice the face is lighted, and the western side is dark. This country was just beginning. We had not begun to explore the West or decided what we could do for Western Civilization.

The Pyramid is uncapped, again signifying that we were not even close to being finished. Inside the capstone you have the all-seeing eye, an ancient symbol for divinity. It was Franklin ’s belief that one man couldn’t do it alone, but a group of men, with the help of God, could do anything. “IN GOD WE TRUST” is on this currency.

The Latin above the pyramid, ANNUIT COEPTIS, means, “God has favored our undertaking.”
The Latin below the pyramid, NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM, means, “a new order has begun.”
At the base of the pyramid is the Roman Numeral for 1776. (MDCCLXXVI)

If you look at the right-hand circle, and check it carefully, you will learn that it is on every National Cemetery in the United States. It is also on the Parade of Flags Walkway at the Bushnell, Florida National Cemetery, and is the centerpiece of most hero’s monuments.

Slightly modified, it is the seal of the President of the United States, and it is always visible whenever he speaks, yet very few people know what the symbols mean.

The Bald Eagle was selected as a symbol for victory for two reasons:

First, he is not afraid of a storm; he is strong, and he is smart enough to soar above it. Secondly, he wears no material crown. We had just broken from the King of England. Also, notice the shield is unsupported. This country can now stand on its own.

At the top of that shield you have a white bar signifying congress, a unifying factor. We were coming together as one nation. In the Eagle’s beak you will read, ” E PLURIBUS UNUM”, meaning, “one nation from many people”.

Above the Eagle, you have thirteen stars, representing the thirteen original colonies, and any clouds of misunderstanding rolling away. Again, we were coming together as one.

Notice what the Eagle holds in his talons. He holds an olive branch and arrows. This country wants peace, but we will never be afraid to fight to preserve peace. The Eagle always wants to face the olive branch, but in time of war, his gaze turns toward the arrows.

They say that the number 13 is an unlucky number. This is almost a worldwide belief.
You will usually never see a room numbered 13, or any hotels or motels with a 13th floor.

But think about this:

13 original colonies,
13 signers of the Declaration of Independence,
13 stripes on our flag,
13 steps on the Pyramid,
13 letters in the Latin above,
13 letters in “E Pluribus Unum”,
13 stars above the Eagle,
13 bars on that shield,
13 leaves on the olive branch,
13 fruits, and if you look closely, 13 arrows.
And, for minorities: the 13th Amendment.

I always ask people, “Why don’t you know this?” Your children don’t know this, and their history teachers don’t know this.

Too many veterans have given up too much to ever let the meaning fade. Many veterans remember coming home to an America that didn’t care. Too many veterans never came home at all.

Share this page with everyone, so they can learn what is on the back of the UNITED STATES ONE DOLLAR BILL, and what it stands for… Otherwise, they will probably never know…

If you get to know your friends you will likely have them longer. If you get to know your relationships, you will probably enjoy them more fully. If you get to know your partner, you will probably be more intimate. If you get to know anything you will be more connected to it. This includes money too!

Owning Your Gifts

Having new toys brings joy to children of all ages. Especially adults. Being a bit of a “gadget geek,” I still marvel at all of the amazing things they allow me to do. Personally, I think that Apple’s iPhone is the eighth wonder of the world. But, if I don’t use mine to truly connect with whomever I’m speaking with, I’ve missed the point. Even more so, it doesn’t hurt to sometimes leave the cell phone at home and enjoy real conversations with good friends and family that are right in front of me.

Recently I was in a restaurant where I witnessed four young people having dinner together. Except, they weren’t. Each of them was actively on their cell phones, engaged in separate conversations with others who were somewhere else.

One could say that I’m just as guilty of allowing the phone to interrupt a meal or gathering I’m having with friends or relatives. What we all truly desire is one another’s Presence—intentionally stated with a capital “P.”

Presence is that elusive quality we experience when we are truly being together with and for one another.

All too often in this holiday season of gift giving, we forget that the most significant gift that we have to give is ourselves. We invite you to share your personal stories of what it means to “BE THE ANSWER.”

This begs the question:

What is the story you have to share about developing this system or creating your company or choosing your profession?

I also want to hear, from anyone that willing to share, about what you do for a living and why you love it.

Take a Bite Everyday

Time flies when you take a stand on what your heartfelt desires are, and you just put yourself on the path and move forward on what you love, step by step. Funny how time seems to disappear when you are living what you love and loving what you live. The ANSWER is finding something you are passionate about, and going for it like there is no tomorrow, and like there is nothing else you are doing it for except the passionate thing itself! Time collapses and you get lots of results.

But as soon as you do something for the sake of some other result, then you lose the passion for the thing itself and it is then inauthentic and hard. You get less results and start assessing what is wrong. Life goes away and the light of excitement is dimmed. Friends and supporters go away, and your purpose is an empty song with no music. So, remember to find your passion or reason for being and doing something. Look at “what wants to happen”, and you love it anyway; and align your participation with the flow of the natural movement. Have fun and live in joy; you will find that your accomplishments, in terms of results, will be more than you could have planned. The result is a by-product of the fun and joy of participating in what you love!

I am reminded of a way to act on something you value, and how to accomplish your dreams and goals, whatever they may be. One teacher said to take five whacks a day with the axe in order to fall the biggest tree. Another, says to climb a mountain a step at a time, and you will surely make it to the top. And there are numerous examples that say, your dreams can be achieved by you if you just start and keep the practice of making a significant contribution towards it every day.

But what if, like the dripping water on the stone, you took a small bite out of that task everyday? Not everyday one week and twice the next week, then take a couple weeks off before putting three more days together again. What if you actually took that bite out of the task EVERY – SINGLE – DAY?

We’ve seen how quickly a year goes by. Try to imagine how much progress can be made on an endeavor taking 365 bites! If you lost just one pound per week, at this time next year you would be 52 pounds lighter. If you wrote just one page per day on that novel you have wanted to write for years, you would have a 365-page tome at this time next year. Since we are now under a week to Thanksgiving, the holiday season is upon us! With all it’s frivolity, holiness, history, anxiety, relaxation, family-orientedness (probably not a word), pettiness, decorating, feasts and buffets, traditions, and celebratory spirit, it’s here and it won’t leave until we are done with 2007 and we begin 2008 hung-over and dazed from 365 days of living.

It begs the question…

How will the 2007 holiday season be distinctly and truly all you could ever hope for when the dust (since it doesn’t get cold enough to snow any more) settles in January?

Playing as if it were true that how you end one year determines how your New Year begins.

Compadres of the Circle

I am taking it upon myself, albeit following the lead of some consistent posters on this blog, and shaking this circle a little bit.
Here’s my vision for this place on the Net: we have an awesome opportunity to create the group of people we claim this Circle to be! Before it has even shown up here. It’s a small circle in comparison to the thousands we’ll have in a year’s time. This circle is about sharing ourselves and creating a cutting edge community experience that explores all that is personal transformation. And we get to celebrate that the deep, life-changing principles of transformation have finally hit the main stream through the Internet and, by golly, even a DVD!

So we are all pioneers on this website, in my opinion. We’ll have stories to tell 10 years from now about how we were there when it began ☺ We were among the first 200 members.

Now, I watched the DVD, the Extended Version, twice. How many times did you watch it? If once, I HIGHLY suggest that you watch it again, whatever version you have. If you watched it twice, what was the difference in your experience the second time around? My hypothesis is that this movie has substance that only be gained by watching it more than once. The first time around, let’s be honest, we are all comparing it to every other movie we have ever seen ☺ Where’s Tom Cruise? He’s gonna show up at the end, right? Isn’t Ray gonna ride his motorcycle up the side of that building? That’s for the next movie, folks…I will let the discussion begin!

PERSEVERANCE IS A MUST!

We have all heard the admonishment about not resting on our laurels, yet most of us lose at least some perspective once we achieve an overwhelming success. In the 2003 college football season, the Oregon Ducks hammered the third ranked Michigan Wolverines and climbed into the top ten college football rankings. it seemed the sky was the limit for the mighty Ducks until they spent the next two weeks looking like the Keystone Cops in shoulder pads and fell completely out of the top 25 rankings.

Whatever success principles and habits you employ to gain success, you must continue to exercise those habits or your success will be fleeting. Ask any entertainer that has made it to the top of their profession and they will tell you that as tough as it was to get to the top, staying atop their perch is that much more difficult.

Success is not forever, neither is failure. Until you quit, the game of life is not over. Whether or not you get back up off the ground and fight when life knocks you to ground, or roll over and wet on yourself is as simple as a decision. What is awesome is the fact that that decision is entirely yours. Don’t get too high or complacent when things are rolling your way, or too low and down on yourself when things seem to be getting away from you. Stay the course with a sound set of success principles and habits and you will win in the end.

Do You REALLY Create Your Own Reality?

One of the more challenging subjects we take head on in THE ANSWER To Absolutely Everything is the question: “Do we really create our own reality?” A fundamental distinction of transformational work is that we “take responsibility” for everything that occurs in our lives. But is that the same thing as “creating it?” This gets quite controversial when it comes to issues of tragedy, like 9/11. What’s your view on creating, causing and being responsible?

The media—in general—gets a bad rap. And justifiably so, when you consider the trivial nature of most of what gets served to the public. Judgments aside, a new genre of “conscious media” is redefining what’s possible. It is designed to wake people up and remind them of age-old principles that make for living better lives.

“What the Bleep Do We Know?”, “The Secret”, and now “THE ANSWER To Absolutely Everything” are great examples of this genre.

Conscious media can be a catalyst for change. It has the power to move people, bridge gaps – and make a lasting impact.

No one can predict how members of the press will choose to report on a subject that may be considered by some to be slightly controversial.

FIRESIDE FORUMS - Creating Community

Not much gets accomplished alone. There’s power in numbers. Miracles occur when people gather with a common commitment.

Since the earliest times people have gathered around a fire to share and create a sense of community.

Many of the teachers and principals associated with the new movie THE ANSWER To Absolutely Everything recently gathered in Santa Rosa for a FIRESIDE FORUM. The purpose was to further explore the principles revealed in the movie, which debuts on DVD October 15. (Visit GetTheAnswer.org for details.)

It was also an opportunity to demonstrate the profound power of setting up networks of support with like-minded people in each of our own lives. The FIRESIDE FORUM event was videotaped with four cameras and will be released simultaneously with THE ANSWER To Absolutely Everything.
